Opportunity Snapshot

This position offers you the opportunity to be on the ground floor of a new program and play a lead role in both the electrical design and installation for multiple applications on multiple planes. You will be able to make a significant impact -- on this program and on your own career -- as you support our efforts to establish a long-term growing relationship with a major aerospace manufacturer. In this role you'll enjoy the best of both worlds: the "startup" energy of a new program as well as the resources and stability of Labinal, Inc., a global leader established in 1921, and the SAFRAN Group, our $18 billion parent corporation.

While you will have some hands-on involvement in projects, for the most part you will coordinate the technical aspects, including assigning and overseeing deliverables, and interfacing with the client and the engineering team. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have education and experience covering electrical and/or mechanical engineering and at least five years of experience in the design and installation of electrical wire harnesses for the aerospace industry. We're looking for a professional with strong technical expertise and the communication skills to convey technical concepts effectively.

Labinal, Inc. designs, manufactures and installs harnesses and wired structural assemblies for a variety of aerospace customers, including Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Integrated Defense Systems, Airbus, Hawker Beechcraft and Dassault Falcon Jet. SAFRAN is an international high-technology group comprised of a number of companies with prestigious brands in their own right that, working alone or in partnership, hold world leadership positions in their markets.

What Else You'll Bring to the Table

In addition to the qualifications detailed above, this position requires: Preferred but not required: While our immediate need is for an experienced candidate with organizational and leadership skills, we are also looking for engineers at all experience levels as we build out this program team. We welcome you to submit your resume even if you are not a perfect match for this role.

What's in It for You

Be part of a new program from square one -- if you are ready to leave the routine behind and build something special from the ground up, this is the team to join. In the near future we expect this team to grow to about 10 and, if our efforts to support this customer's activity are successful, the team could be up to 30 within a couple of years. As you contribute to that growth, you will be in a position to take advantage of the "upward draft" of opportunity it creates.

High impact -- you will be a core contributor to the success of this program, both in the short term and over its growth. You'll help establish processes and procedures, cultivate relationships with our customer, and have input on future directions.

Career development -- at Labinal our goal is to hire professionals who are interested in long-term career growth. While this project will provide you with challenges and opportunities for years to come, we also encourage our people to rotate among programs in order to cross-pollinate ideas. We have several projects underway in Wichita, and more to come, so you can expand your professional horizons without relocating. However, Labinal and Safran are involved in most aerospace projects worldwide, giving you a chance to join almost any project in the future.

Great work environment -- as you would expect, you'll work with intelligent people, motivated by growing the competency and footprint of the company. In addition, as a truly global company, our workforce is highly diverse, giving you many opportunities to interact with professionals from many different cultures.

Excellent compensation -- in addition to a competitive salary, we offer a competitive benefits package including a 401(k) plan with a Company contribution, separate pension, medical, dental, life, disability, three weeks vacation first year, and holidays.
